Some of you have participated in past years, but I've been tweaking the process, so read over the guidelines before sending me a picture. Up for grabs are advanced reader copies of A PERFECT BLOOD for the winner of each category. Contest is open to readers worldwide. Don't submit pictures unless all involved agree, and in the case of minors, parent's permission is required. If you lift photos from the web and pretend that you took them, I will delete your email and not post them, (and by the way, you suck.) Sending me a photo means you want it on the internet. I pick the category winners by what I feel like and how full the moon is, but the grand prize is chosen randomly from category winners. Chances of winning depend upon number of entries, and there is no cash value for the prizes. I'm not sure what I'm going to give to the grand prize winner, but I'll come up with something . . . They will also get the ARC.

To submit a photo, look over the categories to see where you best fit. Pick one. Don't make me decide. I reserve the right to overrule you. If you send me more than three photos, I will only post the first three.

Please resize your photo to within a 500pix by 500pix size, (less is okay) keeping the resolution under 50 KB. If you have a group shot, I'll let a wider shot come through, and if you have no clue what I'm talking about, please have someone help you. I can't handle the 2000 by 3000 pix shots anymore. This contest takes a huge amount of my time, and if it gets too hard, I'm going to have to stop. (Yes, I do this myself. I have that much fun with it. :-)

Check to make sure all involved agree that I can put the picture up on the internet. Sending me a photo means you are giving me the right to post it.

Send your photos to me at watchdogs@comporium.net In your e-mail, I need YOUR NAME so I can get back in touch with you. I need THE CATAGORY for each picture. I need A CAPTION for each picture that includes the first name of the person(s) or group in the picture. (example: Carrie and Mick as vampires.) I MUST HAVE THESE THREE THINGS. Please send them from an email that will be valid through November. Did I mention this contest takes a lot of my time, and if it gets too hard, I'm going to have to stop. You can enter up to three pictures of three different people or pumpkins. (Not three pictures of the same person or group.) Photos of past years are okay as long as you haven't entered them here at a previous contest. Check out last years winners to see what tends to catch my eye. :-)

Kids
This is for the kiddies. If they can drive, they aren't kids anymore. ;-) Babies have a separate category. Winner will have the embodiment of Halloween in their eyes.

 

Pumpkins

Winner will be the most sincere pumpkin in the patch.

This category is no longer accepting the elaborately carved back-lit-glow pumpkins of popular characters unless it is obvious that you have carved them. (Any question, just put a Hollows book or tomato next to it, and we're good.) My apologies to you talented carvers out there, but I've gotten a frustrating number of entries that are clearly lifted from the web and submitted as original work.

 

Group
Office parties, neighborhood get-together's, hay rides . . . Three or more people, this is where you should be. Winner will be the group that is having the most fun.

Hollows

If you or your group is dressed for the Hollows, here is where you belong. Be sure to tell me who you are are in your caption. Winner is the one that wows me the most.

 

Make-Me-Laugh

If your costume is too silly for words, this might be where you should be. Men in fuzzy costumes usually win this.

Over-The-Top

This is for the people who go all out and have a Hollywood-worthy costume.

Gruesome

Blood, guts, zombies, and blood. Did I mention blood? Winner here will make me go "yuck!"

E2 (Everything Else)

Not sure where you belong? Here is the catch-all category. Winner will be the "embodiment" of the holiday.

 

Pets and Babies

Winner of this category will be chosen at random. I will not pick a winner between ultimate sweetness and totally cute. If your child can't walk with a trick-or-treat bag, please enter them here.
