I had a fabulous time in Detroit this October at ConClave 32.  Here are a couple of shots of the weekend.

First things first.  They decorated for me at the con suite.  (grin)  Black curtains, spider webs, a model of Rachel's church. . . . And T4 Tomatoes.

I felt right at home.

Almost before I could even unpack, I did a pod cast for Mur Lafferty for the "I should Be Writing" program.  www.isbw.murlafferty.com Chris was the one who actually did the interview, and when it goes up, I'll put a link to it on the front page.  Chris is a great guy, and he came to some of the panels later.  The interview is a pretty good one, so do check it out when it goes up.

The Panels

The first panel was on Crossing Genres, where Tiffany Aaron (erotic romance), Paige Burns (erotic romance),  Samuel Travis Clemmons (erotic everything else) and me spoke on the pros and cons of mixing genres.

Later on that same day, I did a panel on Vampires in Literature with Karen Edwards, myself, and M. Keaton, who has the oddest set of jobs I've ever seen put together.  How often do you sit next to a man who can dig a grave and write, too.  Not to mention call rain.

The people I met

At the Con Suite, I met Aimee over coffee.  (grin)  We're doing our captain Morgan shot.  Aimee's a long-time poster on the post page, and it was great to meet her.

This is me and Jody.  That man was tireless in keeping everything going.  I think this was taken Saturday before he was running on three hours sleep.  ;-)

And Mr. Nick!  Long-time poster on the post page.  I finally got to meet him.  What a guy! I forget what panel he came to, but he was right up there in the front row.  Making me all nervous.  (grin)

For the life of me, I can't remember her name . . .  but she belly dances.  (yay!)  I tried.  I really did.  I like this shot because I look tall here.  (smile)  I don't get that often.

Mr. Lee, a long-time reader I finally met at the Con.

The Panels on Sunday

Two more panels.  The first was on pixies, and I did not get a picture.  (duhhhhh)  But the second one was on marketing.  A subject I could talk myself on for hours.  Here is a shot of Michael Andoaloz modeling Rachel's toe tag.

And the panel itself.  Michael Andaloz, Paige Burns, Daniel J. Hogan, and myself.  All savvy in self promoting.  I learned stuff, too.
